We were delighted to present a £75,000 donation to The Trussell Trust, the charity working to end food poverty by supporting a national network of food bank centres. This is a fitting conclusion to our 75-year anniversary fundraising and the £75,000 is one of the largest single donations to date to the social housing sector’s More Than Homes campaign.
This time last year, our entire organisation embarked on the ‘IW75 in 75 Mission’ which saw teams virtually cycle, swim, run and walk around the globe to clock up miles over 75 days. During the rest of 2021, despite the challenge of fundraising during various lockdowns, the Ian Williams’ Foundation and individuals across the business managed to hold a host of other events, competitions and raffles to contribute to the final total.
Andy Havard, Ian Williams’ Managing Director comments: “There has never been a more appropriate time for us to come together as a collective and I’m so proud that as a business we have been able to demonstrate the social purpose that has underpinned our brand since 1946. I’d like to say a huge thank you to everyone involved, from participants in the ‘IW75 in 75 Mission’, to all our friends, family, suppliers and business partners that sponsored us. We hope our donation goes some way to alleviating the current crisis of “heat or eat” facing so many people.”
