The road to the Premier Trophy Awards 2019 final
Entries for the Premier Trophy Awards 2019 may have closed, but now the hard work starts!
Since its inception in 1987, the Premier Trophy Awards have required entrants to demonstrate three objectives: the diversity of skill and craft; efficiency of service to clients; and work to the highest standards of excellence for the industry. It is now that the judges meet to determine which entrants best meet these criteria.
To ensure that the diversity of the industry is represented, this year’s categories are: Decorative, Highly Decorative, Industrial, Sole Trader/Small Contractor, Residential, Commercial, and New Build. The judges will also pick the ‘Supreme Winner’ from the seven category winners.
Each entry will be thoroughly scrutinised by the judging panel. From the application and the accompanying pictures, the judges will be looking at areas such quality of workmanship, craftsmanship and expertise. Once they have finished their deliberations, they will produce a shortlist of entries.
The site visit
Those entries that have been shortlisted will be contacted to arrange for the independent inspectors - Clerk of Works Incorporation Council (ICW) - to visit the site of the project submitted. During their visit to site, they will take the opportunity to interview the applicants about the project and their work. Site visits will be undertaken before the end of May 2019.
The final deliberations
Once all sites have been visited, the judging panel will review the ICW’s findings and then choose the winners in each category.
The 2019 Awards ceremony will take place on Thursday 4th July 2019 at Plaisterers’ Hall, London. The winner in each category will be presented with a trophy and a framed certificate.
