Stuart Cavanagh has said he wants to make Novus Property Solutions "an employer of choice in the industry" in his new role as the company's head of human resources.
Having previously worked as HR director at The Freeman Company – the world's largest event and exposition firm – Stuart has brought 16 years of multi-sector HR experience to Novus.
The 36-year-old, who was born in Manchester, has HR experience in security, retail and the public sector, but he has insisted that Novus requires its own distinct culture that fits with the ethos of the business and its staff.
He said: "I don’t believe in super imposing another company's culture and model. I need to find the blueprint that works for Novus.
"Our story is compelling and I want to make us an employer of choice in the industry.
"I have always built HR teams that are welcomed in the business and seen as a central support, and that is my aim with this team. We have some interesting projects in the pipeline that I can't wait to get started on that will help Novus and our people."
Stuart began his new role on August 22nd and has already helped to support the company's move to a new head office at Five Towns House in Stoke.
He said that Novus’ long history as a family-owned business was part of what drew him to the firm.
"Novus offers the opportunity to help realign people’s goals with the wider business plan. I have always liked family-owned businesses as the values they hold mirror my personal ones.
"The role is not with out challenges, as I work with the business to build the culture and ensure that people are central to everything that we do."
