Pay Rates 2013

Following negotitations between the parties to the Construction Industry Joint Council, the Council has adopted recommendations for an agreement on pay and conditions and thereby settles all outstanding claims.

With effect from Monday 1st October 2012 death benefit [WR.21.1(b)] is to be increased from £23,000 to £25,000. Such benefit to be doubled to £50,000 if death occurs either at work or travelling to or from work.

With effect from Monday 7th January 2013 the basic pay rates listed below will apply (WR.1).

Fare and Lodging Allowance 

Under the CIJC Working Rule Agreement the non taxed Fare and Lodging Allowances automatically increase each year by the March RPI figure, which this year was 3.6%.

The revised tables are effective from 2nd July 2012.

The question of any change to basic pay rates remains the subject of on going negotiations.

Non Taxed Fare and Subsistence Allowances

Official confirmation from HMRC has been received and the revised non taxed fare and subsistence allowances can continue to be paid without deduction of Income Tax.
