The Ian Henderson Apprentice of the Year Winners

 

Saturday 15th June, saw Bell Decorating Group apprentices Hanif Momin, Nicole Spiers, Jack Beadie and John Wedderburn collect their Ian Henderson Apprentice of the Year awards. The awards are voted for by Bell Group colleagues, mentors and management teams in recognition of nominees hard work and determination during their apprenticeships.

 

The Ian Henderson Apprentice Awards are named after former Managing Director Ian Henderson, who sadly passed away last year. Ian spent 47 years in the construction industry, 25 of which with Bell Group, and was an integral part of Bell Group helping influence and form many aspects of the company.

 

Starting with Bell Group as a Head Office Surveyor in 1992, Ian confidently advanced in his role to become Branch Manager, Director and finally Managing Director, a post he held until his retirement in 2017. He remained a mentor to CEO Craig Bell for 19 years until his passing. 

 

Ian’s Immeasurable legacy continues through Craig, who as part of the awards will become the winning apprentice’s mentor. 

 

Liam Hilton scooped the ‘Rising Star Award’ for his ongoing commitment to progressing within his career and Bell Group.

 

The awards were presented by John Kourtoulos of Akzonobel, Paul Steedman, Bell Group Managing Director and Anna Higham, Bell Group Community Investment Manager at Bell Group during the launch party for the George and Annette Bell Foundation.

 

Anna Higham said ‘It is incredibly rewarding to see the apprentices recognised by their peers for the efforts they put into their work and careers. With Craig as their mentor there is no limit to where they can go in this business, we may be developing our future CEO!’

 

Bell Group currently have 12% of the Decorating Apprentices in the UK.
