Employers in England can now claim the following payments after the Government launched two new incentive schemes:
- £3,000 for each new apprentice hired between 1 April and 30 September 2021. Employers will need to set up an apprenticeship service account in order to apply, and this incentive can be claimed in addition to the existing £1,000 payment for hiring an apprentice aged 16 to 18 years old or under 25 with an education, health and care plan or who has been in the care of their local authority.
- £1,000 for each T Level student hosted on an industry placement of at least 45 days. There is an Employer Guide for construction containing example placement templates, and employers can claim for up to 20 students until July 2022.
