National trade body call out to community projects

17 February 2023

The Painting and Decorating Association (PDA) has issued a call out to community projects that could benefit from donated paint.

We, the UK’s largest trade body dedicated to the painting and decorating sector, have launched a new sustainability scheme, Paint Green, which encourages our Members to reduce, reuse or recycle excess paint.

And now we are asking for community projects to get in touch if they believe donations of paint could help their cause.

Our Chief Executive Neil Ogilvie said:

“PDA Members who take the Paint Green pledge are making a commitment to drive down waste.

“We’re encouraging our Members to look at ways to reduce the amount of waste produced, and either recycle left over paint, or find a way to reuse it.

“To support our Members in this, we are collating a database of organisations that either recycle excess paint, or community projects that can make use of it.”

PDA Members who take the Paint Green pledge will be able to display the initiative’s logo on their website, vehicles and stationary, showcasing to customers that they are actively working to tackle waste.

Community projects that may benefit from donations of excess paint, or who offer paint recycling, can be included on the PDA database by emailing [email protected]
