Now in its 67th year, the RoSPA Health and Safety Awards is the largest and longest-running occupational health and safety awards programme in the UK. The awards cover over 50 countries and reach over 7 million employees, gaining almost 2,000 yearly entries.
Bagnalls succeeded against strong international competition to receive their 14th award, recognising their continued commitment to health and safety for their employees.
RoSPA rewards clear commitment to health and safety. This commitment includes the prevention of accidents and ill health at work and overarching health and safety management systems, as well as leadership and workforce involvement in safety protocols.
Bagnalls have a policy of continuous improvement when it comes to health and safety protocols. They ensure all projects comply with health and safety standards, both in occupied and non-occupied premises, and meet all the requirements of CDM 2015 as a Principal Contractor.
The Bagnalls team receive regular and thorough health and safety training, both at the start of their employment and during their careers. Bagnalls provide safety stand down days, external training courses and tool box talks, all of which increase the team’s skills, knowledge and understanding of the importance of health and safety.
This training has clearly had an impact. Becky Slater, Bagnall’s Head of Safety, Health, Environment and Quality (SHEQ), commented:
“I believe winning a 14th consecutive Gold award is a worthy acknowledgement of all the hard work that every individual in Bagnalls puts in every day, to create a safer working environment.”
RoSPA recognises this hard work. Julia Small, RoSPA’s Achievements Director, said:
“Good safety performance deserves to be recognised and rewarded. We are thrilled that Bagnalls have achieved another RoSPA award and would like to congratulate them on their unwavering commitment to keeping their employees safe.”
Bagnalls’ 14th Gold RoSPA award highlights Bagnalls’ ongoing improvements which go beyond the minimum legal requirements for good health and safety management.
