Lighthouse Charity Make It Visble in Ireland again

13 September 2023

The Lighthouse Charity’s Make it Visible on site team have been spreading the message of support again to the construction community in Ireland.

The week long tour in July saw the Make it Visible van and team members Andy, Lee, Rob and Jack visiting Limerick, Ennis, Sligo, Cork, Waterford and Dublin. In total they visited 14 sites and met over 2000 site operatives.

Launched last year in a bid to reach out to the ‘boots on the ground’ workforce, the Make it Visible tours are hugely popular and take the message of wellbeing support directly to where it needs to be.

As well as delivering a tool box talk, the tour team share their own lived experiences with the struggles they have had and talk about the importance of looking after emotional wellbeing, both on and off site and reaching out for support at an early stage.

The team visited sites across a range of Irish companies including; John Sisk, Cairn Homes, M.Fitzgibbon Contractors, Shareridge, Dornan Engineering, PJ Hegarty & Son, Goldcross Developments, Knoxpark Developments, Eli Lilly, Keirnan Electrical, Irving Oil Refinery, Weltec Engineering, Bennett Construction, and Collen Construction

So far this year the ‘Make It Visible’ tour has visited over 260 sites and reached nearly 17,000 workers across Ireland and the UK. More tours in Ireland are scheduled for October, November and December.

The charity’s efforts to raise awareness of the support it can offer the Irish construction community has been bolstered by dynamic committees who are championing new networking and fundraising events in both the north and south of the country.
