PDA’s ‘Join Today’ Offer at the P & D Show

30 May 2024

The Painting and Decorating Association is available to respond to its Members promptly at the end of the phone, by email – as well as in person at industry events throughout the year.

It’s the personal touch that makes a difference, and visitors to the Association’s stand at the P and D Show can meet the team and find out how the Association is completely focused on supporting the trade.

Neil Ogilvie, Chief Executive of the PDA, said:

“At last year’s P and D Show, one of the strongest points that Members commented on was the value we bring in being available when help is needed.

“We know our Members appreciate being able to contact us at the office and come straight through to one of the team.

“Our policy is that we are always happy to help – and if it’s something we can’t answer straight away, we have contacts across the industry who will help us get back to Members quickly.

“That support and back-up is invaluable, and it can make all the difference when a Member hits a problem and needs the best support to navigate through it.”

Often, it is only when things go wrong that you can find out how much membership of an organisation is worth. One of the PDA’s major benefits is the help it offers Members if they face problems, such as bad debts or unsubstantiated client complaints.

Thousands and thousands of pounds have been recovered and hours saved trying to rectify issues for Members through the PDA’s free legal support programme and the service has proved invaluable in helping painters and decorators manage problems in a straightforward and effective manner.

Having the opportunity to stand out from the crowd to win new business is another important benefit of membership, through initiatives such as Paint Green, the Association’s new sustainability initiative.

The scheme encourages PDA Members to drive down waste through using existing recycling schemes or finding innovative ways to repurpose excess paint and containers.

Neil Ogilvie added:

“The feedback we’ve had from Paint Green Members has been very positive, with clients appreciating their efforts and the logo considered a valuable asset in demonstrating that they are making an effort to deal with any leftover paint and containers responsibly.

“At last year’s P and D show, some Members said it was making a difference to them winning work, as clients liked to see the fact that they were taking action to be more sustainable.

“It’s a trend that will only increase as the environment becomes more and more important to customers, so being part of Paint Green is not just better for the planet but also for business.”

The PDA is also on hand to help painters and decorators raise their market profile by displaying the trade body logo on vehicles, on social media and stationary.

And the website, www.paintingdecoratingassociation.co.uk is becoming a hub of information, which enables Members to set out the quality of their work to potential customers, using their own individual profile pages to win new business.
