Valspar Trade is continuing its award-winning College Tour this new academic year, with an emphasis on making it bigger and better, aimed at engaging the younger generation of painters and decorators and delivering added value to local colleges.
Launched in 2021, the College Tour featured Colour Workshops, delivered by the college’s local Trade Sales Specialist to NVQ students. Building on this success for the 2024/25 academic year, Valspar Trade is proud to have entered into broader partnerships with ten colleges across the UK, offering a package of support for the students and staff.
As in previous years, Valspar Trade will be delivering its Colour Workshop to each of the college classes, with a focus on providing students with a unique insight into paint and the use of colour. The workshop will cover the importance of choosing good quality paint, the impact of colour and how to achieve a successful colour scheme, as well as a professional finish.
New for 2024 includes the supply of free Valspar Trade tintable paint donated over the course of the academic year, enabling students to test out its products in practice. Valspar Trade will also be donating £500 to each college for an initiative of their choosing, for the benefit of students and lecturers.
Speaking about the College Tour, Richard Palmer, Head of Trade at Valspar Trade said:
“We’re so excited to be launching our new college partnerships for the latest academic year. It’s a fantastic opportunity to work with local colleges and support the younger generation of painters and decorators, helping to encourage their learning and passion for the trade.
“At Valspar Trade, we pride ourselves on our colour offer, with achieving a perfect colour just as important as the perfect finish. That’s why we developed our Colour Workshop, educating students on everything from colour psychology to colour mixing.”
Valspar Trade will be kicking off the tour at Coventry College in November, with a further nine college visits scheduled across the Autumn and Spring terms.
All students will also benefit from access to Valspar Trade’s Perfect Match community.
