The Chief Executive of the UK’s largest trade body representing painters and decorators has become First Vice President of an organisation that brings together trade bodies for the sector from across Europe.
Neil Ogilvie, Chief Executive at the Painting and Decorating Association (PDA), accepted the appointment at the International Association of Painting Contractors (UNIEP) General Assembly in December.
Representing more than 60,000 businesses through its members and supporters across 15 European countries, UNIEP protects the interests of the painting sector as well as ensuring a qualified future for the trade through focus on the improvement of skills and competencies.
Neil Ogilvie said: “Having been a member of the Board at UNIEP for the last six years, I’m very aware of the excellent work the organisation does in representing the interests of the sector at an international level.
“I’m incredibly proud to have been invited to take on this role and look forward to continuing to work closely with colleagues across Europe as a collective voice for professional painters and decorators.”
The PDA has acted as a collective voice for painters and decorators since 1894, lobbying on their behalf at a national level and hosting a series of key events that showcase the skill and professionalism of painters and decorators throughout the year.
