CSCS Group publishes Annual Review for 2025

CSCS Group has published its Annual Review for 2025 – a year in which the card scheme celebrated its 30-year anniversary.

At the centre of the Group’s priorities during its 30th year has been the development of the Digital Skills Passport infrastructure, with the My CSCS app at its heart.

My CSCS is the Digital Skills Passport for CSCS cardholders and, following its relaunch in 2025, is the quickest and easiest way to apply for, or renew a CSCS card thanks to its innovative, AI-driven application process.

The app brings together a worker’s digital CSCS card, verified qualifications, and additional training in one secure, portable record that can move with them from site to site and role to role.

Supporting this at the gate is CSCS Smart Check – industry’s ‘border control’ technology, providing instant verification of CSCS-logoed cards and helping reduce paperwork while speeding up onboarding. Smart Check continues to scale across UK construction, with 34 million scans in 2025, plus 118 service users and 26 IT partners, enabling integration into site access and workforce systems.

CSCS Cards – as part of the CSCS Alliance and alongside Smart Check verification patterns – is also helping provide an illustrative picture of workforce trends, qualification levels and training gaps to policymakers, clients and contractors so they can target effort and investment where it will have the greatest impact.

The review also touches on other notable changes from the past 12 months, such as alterations to the Labourer and Trainee cards, as well as a preview of what’s to come in 2026.
