We have an excellent CPD opportunity for APCT members to attend an event that is relevant to our teaching, relating to current products and application techniques, which will provide a very interesting and varied day. Attendance will enable participants to share the knowledge they gain with their learners and colleagues.
This event is to be hosted by Heritage Wallcoverings, Lincrusta who we are delighted to be associated with.
Please note, due to Health and Safety considerations, there are limited places for this CPD session, so an early expression of interest will help secure places.
This CPD session has involved a considerable amount of planning and discussion with Lincrusta, so please do all you can to seek permission to attend and take the opportunity for industrial updating and to meet up with colleagues from the APCT.
The event is scheduled for a weekday during term time. I consider this to be excellent CPD and I hope that as many of you as possible will be able to attend.
I suggest that you make your line managers aware of this opportunity as soon as possible, and request permission to attend.
This is an excellent opportunity to visit such an historical manufacturer, and see at first hand the processes involved in producing this product. I have been involved in the trade since I was 16 years of age, and never had the opportunity to visit Lincrusta in all that time. I expect interest and demand to be high.

Outline of the day:
Arrival and safety brief– A chance to learn about the latest designs and products in the Lincrusta range, to see Lincrusta being produced from raw materials, the production process, quality control, through to rolls coming of the machine and the onward procedures to allow for product to be sent to the warehouse, for onward sale.
See some finished samples therefore gaining first-hand experience of product characteristics and performance helping you to better inform your students and colleagues. Take away samples, and knowledge.
Corporate brief and the future– A corporate PPT looking at projects Fire rating and many other interesting points, including the history of Lincrusta, modern ways of using Lincrusta, for commercial and retail markets
Introduction to Technical Support – How you can access reduced cost materials for your colleges, information, samples and technical support
Lunch will be provided for all attendees.
Following this factory tour, we plan to arrange a hands-on CPD session (or sessions) with Andy Sarson, Lincrusta’s Production and Technical Manager. These will be full-day events focused on practical product knowledge, installation, decoration techniques, and much more.
