A family painting and decorating business from Ashton-under-Lyne is celebrating after receiving a brand new Graco spray machine from the Painting and Decorating Association (PDA), the UK’s largest trade body dedicated to the sector.
George Borg and his sons Lewis and Aaron, work together at G Borg High Class Painting & Decorating, their family painting and decorating business, which was automatically entered into PDA’s Early Bird Prize Draw after paying the membership fee in full at the start of the year.
George said: “We’ve been with the PDA for at least 10 years, and it was great that we were picked out of the draw for paying our fee for the year upfront.
“It’s a nice feeling when you win something and the spray machine will be very useful.”
The Graco GX19 Electric Airless Sprayer was presented to George, Lewis and Aaron by Callum Merriman, Account Manager at Graco and PDA Chief Executive Neil Ogilvie, who travelled to Ashton-under-Lyne to congratulate them.
Neil said: “Congratulations to George, Lewis and Aaron on their surprise win!
“It was fantastic to be there to present their prize and hear about the boon this will be for their business.”
As the UK’s largest trade body dedicated to the painting and decorating sector, the PDA represents thousands of operatives across the country and provides a range of support for apprentices and employers.
The GX19 Electric Airless Sprayer, worth more than £1,200, was provided by Graco as the Early Bird prize.
Callum Merriman said: “Congratulations, to George and his sons at G Borg.
“The GX 19 is an airless sprayer that ticks all the boxes for small residential painting and repainting jobs.
“It combines the GX track record with an affordable price, making airless spraying the logical choice for even those small projects like painting interior walls and ceilings.”
Established in 1972, G Borg High Class Painting and Decorating is a long-standing family business working with domestic and commercial customers across the area, offering expert wallpaper hanging, professional paint work and airless spraying of walls, ceilings, exteriors, woodwork, furniture, kitchens and more.
The PDA has acted as a collective voice for painters and decorators since 1894, lobbying on their behalf at a national level and hosting a series of key events that showcase the skill and professionalism of painters and decorators throughout the year.
