This year, the Painting and Decorating Association (PDA), is hoping to see the return of calendar highlights such as the Premier Trophy Awards after the COVID-19 pandemic put a halt to its events in 2020.
Plans are in the pipeline for the competitions, awards and events that the PDA hosts each year, but dates are being kept flexible as COVID-19 restrictions alter.
- The flagship Premier Trophy Awards ceremony is currently scheduled to take place at Plaisterer’s Hall, London, on 16 September.
Applications for the 2022 Premier Trophy Awards will be available soon for projects completed between 1 January 2020 and 31 December 2021.
- On 15 June, the PDA’s Apprentice Paperhanger of the Year competition will see trainees tackle a six-hour wallpapering challenge in a test of nerve and skill at Doncaster Hub.
The winners of the Paperhanger competition are usually announced at the PDA’s annual networking event.
- The PDA’s Premier Trophy Award Apprentice of the Year competition is also set to go ahead, after close liaison with the colleges that will host the competition heats.
If COVID-19 restrictions allow, competitors will meet at Bournemouth and Poole College on 11 June, Coventry College on 18 June and Accrington and Rossendale College on 25 June.
- Provisional bookings have also been made for an Activity Day on 2 September at the Abbey Hotel and Golf Club in Redditch, and for the National Networking Event at the Liverpool Hilton Hotel on 19-21 November.
If you are interested in attending our Activity Day, please email our Events Manager, Yvonne at [email protected] to register your interest.
